Questions that Parents Frequently Ask
We have tried to offer detailed information on our web site to help parents as they go through this often stressful and confusing process. If you have additional questions, please feel free to call our office for more information. You are also invited to join us for our monthly Parent Class.

How do I know your instructors are safe?
All Safeway instructors are tested and fully licensed by the Minnesota Dept. of Public Safety. They have passed FBI and BCA background checks, as well as maintain clean driving records. They are Safeway employees and not subcontractors. The Safeway Driving School cars are all white and have our graphics so you know who is showing up to pick up your son or daughter. If you have any questions or concerns about who the instructor will be to give your child their lesson, please call us.

What if I don't want my child to get their driver's license until their grades improve?
That's great! We encourage holding your child responsible for good grades and respective behavior. Keep in mind the driving lessons are not a privilege, they are a necessity. We should be instructing your student as they learn to drive. After your child is finished with the last driving lesson, keep the white card in a secure place until you are ready for them to test.

Can I withdraw my child's driving privileges?

1) Parents to withdraw their consent for drivers under the age of 18 to maintain a license or permit; 2) Parents to rescind their withdrawal of parental consent;
3) Drivers age 18 or over to voluntarily cancel their own driving privileges.
