Safeway Driving School is owned locally by Chip Hayssen and Jim and Cindy Thienes.  Our 50 licensed instructors include many licensed school teachers, law enforcement officers and three former State driving examiners.

Safeway is dedicated to providing a professional level of service in both the classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. Based on AAA's "Learn to Drive" course, released in 2012, our curriculum has been reviewed and approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. Our vehicles are regularly inspected and maintained to ensure safety. All our vehicles are white with uniform graphics to ensure a high level of safety and security.

After comprehensive reviews that included other local driving schools, 11 community education departments have selected Safeway to provide driving instruction to their community's teens.

Safeway is fully insured, bonded and licensed by the State of Minnesota.  Safeway is a member of the Driving School Association of the Americas and a founding member of the Minnesota Driving School Association.
